Oral Cancer

Fortunately, most mouth sores are not harmful. But a small number are dangerous and may lead to oral cancer. Risks for oral cancer include smoking or chewing tobacco and consuming large amounts of alcohol.

When oral cancer is detected early by your dentist, it can be completely cured!

Many lesions are small and they can only be detected during a dental exam. Harmful and harmless sores look alike. Take a look... the lesions shown in the pictures below were found to be precancers or cancers when they were tested!

Detecting Oral Cancer... It's as easy as 1, 2, 3...

OralCDx is a brush biopsy test that can be used to tell which mouth lesions may be harmful. It does not require numbing and caused minimal to no discomfort.

After a computer-assisted analysis, the laboratory informs the dentist whether the lesion contains abnormal cells.
